I started construction on my shoe rack today by cutting out some of the pieces I needed. Here's a picture of some plywood that I marked with chalk which was unnecessary but it looks nifty:

I also discovered the joys of edge-banding today. As I was ironing this on, I told Tim that I was a real home-maker now but he said that the ironing on of edge-banding is more masculine than normal ironing so that's neat. Also, you may notice that there's a small strip of plywood glued on to the left edge of this piece of plywood - that's because I'm a big dum-dum and I cut my plywood 1/2" short for the top and bottom pieces. Here's me ironing:
