Final Project Update 3- Aaron Johnson

Today was my last day in the shop. I finished off the table by taking my tabletop that dried overnight and pocket screwing it to the legs and skirt. As seen below, I put pocket holes into the skirt and it made it very easy to ensure that the tabletop was secure. The hardest part was ensuring that there was exactly two inches of tabletop extending past the legs, and only a quarter of an inch wider than the skirt.

After the table was totally put together, I sanded down the tabletop and its sides as well as the bottom shelf and its sides to ensure it was smooth and make it possible to stain in the future.

Below is the final result. I was very pleased with how it turned out as it was my first real project created entirely by me, me design, and my measurements. There are definitely things I will know better next time, like wasting wood and money, but I’m overall very happy to see some newfound skills be put to work.
