But without the fancy design on the doors. I will use 1x12 for the top (2'), bottom (2'), and sides (1 1/2' each). For the doors I will build a frame out of 1x4 (two 1' 4 1/2" pieces and two 9 1/2" pieces for each door) and put a sheet (1'1" x 1'1") of metal grate on the inside of the frame for the front of the doors. I will also use 1x4 (4" each) for the legs.
The approximate cost for this project is:
- $19.62 for 8' of 1x12
- $7.30 for 16' of 1x4
- $22.78 for 36" x 36" Cloverleaf Aluminum Sheet, Silver
for a total of $49.70
This is a good project. Consider the quality of the would you suggest. It has a bit of a rustic look, so it might be ok. A good idea to look again though. The legs might want/need to be two pieces of 1x glued together. Note that the base is "separate" from the cabinet. That will inform the construction.
