Final Idea for Final Project (finally)

After some more thought, I came to the conclusion that crafting a table would be the most fun. Yes, it is a rather generic project, but with smart planning and fine studio skills, the table could look borderline professional, hopefully. What makes this table unique is it's base structure: the truss! The foundation of many great building and bridge designs in engineering.  How the truss supports the center of the table is seen in this SketchUp model. The measurements for this table are not finalized, but I expect the cost of the entire table will be no more than $100.

  1. This is a good project. Looks like 4x4 which would be HEAVY. Consider other, thinner lumber or a combination of lumber sizes. A truss can be strong w/ "less". Wood planks on top? There are some fun fastening options to discuss.
